The Vision
The redevelopment of this important site will:
- Represent a multi-million pound investment in Woolston, signalling commitment to the regeneration of this part of Southampton
- Provide homes, community facilities and commercial uses such as a supermarket, small offices, restaurants, cafes and a hotel
- Provide over 1,000 jobs and training opportunities for local people from marine employment through construction to hospitality
- Be a leading example of sustainable development by embedding a number of sustainability initiatives to ensure the development is enjoyed by generations to come
- Further integration of Woolston and Southampton by investment in public transport and a new water taxi
- Create public access through the site to the river's edge and provide a new ecological habitat
